Clapotis Complete

2006-10-09 087

I finished my clapotis. I used Karaoke from SWTC. It took almost exactly 6 skeins.

I was a little disappointed when I finished because I realized I had really expected more subtle and fewer color changes. I think it looks too stripey. But once I wrapped it around myself, I no longer cared about the stipey-ness. It's really soft and cozy. I love wearing it.

It was extremely mind-numbing to make, though. After I'd dropped the first couple of stitches the novelty wore off and it became very boring and monotonous. It was a struggle to finish. No matter how cozy it feels, I'm not sure it was worth it.

  • It looks lovely--nice and drapey. How does it look with the wrong side facing out? The stripes might look a little more subtle. Kate Gilbert posted on her blog that she actually thinks the wrong side is prettier. I wear mine that way.

  • It looks fabulous! Congrats on finishing it, despite the mind-numbing knitting.
